What we do
Serving our Community, One Delivery at a Time
At Blood Bike North West, we provide a vital, free-of-charge medical transport service, ensuring urgent medical supplies reach those who need them most. From life-saving blood and chemotherapy treatments to critical lab specimens and donor breast milk, our dedicated volunteers work around the clock to support hospitals, nursing homes, laboratories, and families across the region.
We operate out-of-hours during weekdays and offer 24-hour coverage on weekends and public holidays, including Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Our service is entirely volunteer-run and funded by generous donations, allowing us to continue making a difference in our community.
All of our volunteer riders have gone through extensive training and have achieved advanced riding qualifications from either RoSPA or The Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM).
In everything we do, the safety of our menbers and those we serve is of key importance

More About the Human Milk Bank
The Human Milk Bank is a service operated by the team at the Southwest Acute Hospital in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh and provides this vital and ever-growing service throughout all of Ireland.
The video below shows how this breast milk is donated, treated and dispatched to over 27 Neo-Natal Units all throughout Ireland. It also shows the key role played by Irish Blood Bike Groups in the collection of donated breast milk and the redistribution of treated breastmilk to wherever it is needed.
All of the Blood Bike groups involved do so on free-of-charge voluntary basis
